Kelview has been blessed with continued growth in facilities, however we recognize that buildings do not make a church ... people do! That is why we focus our ministries on the INDIVIDUALS that make up God's Church!
This page was provided simply to offer a look at some of the history faithful people have experienced at Kelview. |
The first building ... Kelview Heights 1961. |
June 1961, 27 people met for that first service ... Some of the first 27 who were present were Mrs. Azalee Cantrell and her daughter Patsy Cantrell Walker, Mrs. Roxie Nutt, Mr. & Mrs. Don Noble and their two children, Mr. & Mrs. Swartz, Mrs. Dorothy Beckwith Skidmore and her daughter Shirley Beckwith Loyd and son Jackie Beckwith. Mrs. Ruby Elliott brought her 6 daughters - Nancy Reeves, Sandra Elliott, Audrey Wright, Judy Mahaffey, Diane Price, and Linda Bustilloz. Mr. & Mrs Proctor and Mrs. Mary Hubble were also in attendance that morning.
Mrs. Elliott recalls, "Brother Johnson preached a simple salvation message that morning. We liked him, and Sunday evening after the service we asked him to step outside while we voted him in!" |
